On 21 March 2024, 100 Women in Finance in Milan organised a session on Engaging with the Future of Asset Management. More than 70 100WF members and guests met to hear panellists Olivia Shipton, Boston Consulting Group, Maria Paola Toschi, JP Morgan Asset Management, Cinzia Tagliabue, Amundi and Neo Mooki, Generali Asset Management, share their insights and perspectives on what to expect in the future of the asset management industry. The discussion was moderated by Emanuela Mantini, Assicurazioni Generali.
Key takeaways:
- Expect growth in the industry to be driven by passive and alternative funds, ongoing fee compression but generative AI could help asset managers improve margins.
- Developed economies are demonstrating surprising resilience suggesting an optimistic soft landing.
- Client education is the solution to increasing demands for customised solutions that match client time horizons.
- Key trends for investors include the democratisation of access to private assets, increased interest in sustainability and impact, private debt, and secondary market investments.
A networking reception in the Directors’ offices on the 40th floor of the Zaha Hadid designed Generali Tower followed the panel. Guests enjoyed stunning views of the city as they connected with colleagues.
We would like to thank Generali Asset Management for hosting the event and for their excellent hospitality and the speakers for their participation.
