On 27 June, more than 100 guests were once again generously hosted by EY for the Elevating Women’s Voices 2024 Closing event.
The evening was expertly moderated by Jade Van Buuren, BNP Paribas and Yifan Zhao, BlackRock. Following opening remarks and Acknowledgement of Country from Jennifer Kwok, EY, the audience was then entertained and inspired by four panel sessions curated by participants in this year’s program. We heard advice that sounds simple but can be powerful and change lives, some compelling personal stories that left us on the edge of our seats, strategies for elevating women’s resilience and the Power of the Pack.
In its third year and created as a result of the shortage of women available to speak to and on behalf of the finance industry, the Elevating Women’s Voices program aims to provide support, guidance, confidence and opportunities to enable highly competent and capable women to contribute more actively in a variety of settings, and provide the Australian business community with a wealth of female voices, opinions and approaches to creating, managing, and transforming industry conventions.
The program consisted of four training sessions led by the highly engaging Arabella McPherson, Resonate Communications, covering topics around Feeling Prepared, Anticipating Difficult Questions, Engaging the Audience all the way and Nerves vs Confidence. The participants put these learnings into practice in their smaller mentor sessions. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many participants stating that before the program, they either disliked presenting or felt they could improve. Now, they express enthusiasm for volunteering for every speaking opportunity.
Well done to all the participants of the program.
We extend our thanks to all the sponsors, hosts and mentors for their support of the program. We couldn’t do it without you!
We look forward to returning in 2025.
This event was organised by 100WF’s Australia Committee.
