Meet the Co-Chairs of 100WF’s Luxembourg Committee: Martina Ben-Shaul and Isabelle Nicks

Luxembourg is 100WF’s newest global location. The Luxembourg committee, led by co-chairs Martina Ben-Shaul and Isabelle Nicks, aims to advance 100WF’s mission to empower women at every career stage. The committee is planning an exciting range of events for 2025, including a high profile launch event in Q2 2025, to bring together and build the local community of 100WF members, and create opportunities for learning, making connections and being visible. Committee members, all professionals in diverse roles in the finance industry, volunteer their time and experience to progress 100WF’s mission with dedication and are contributing to positive change in the finance industry. Martina Ben-Shaul
Executive Director, CIBC Capital Markets (Europe) SA

Martina Ben-Shaul is Executive Director, Rate Sales with focus on Fixed Income and Money Markets. After spending her entire professional career in London, Martina started working for CIBC’s new Luxembourg entity in the autumn of 2020. For CIBC Martina chaired the European Inclusion and Wellbeing Council, where she is still an active member, from 2017 until 2022. She is also an ally to CIBC Pride Europe and co-devised an internal programme fostering inclusive language: ‘Call me by my Name’.

Martina joined CIBC in 2000. Prior to joining CIBC she worked for Societe Generale and as a financial journalist for Euromoney.

Martina, a dual national and native German speaker received a MSc in Political Science from the Free University of Berlin, came to London for Erasmus studies at the LSE and completed an MA Degree in Area Studies of the Middle East at SOAS. Martina has lived in six countries across three continents. She is a member of the FT Non-Executive Directors Club and completed a Certificate in Sustainability and Social Innovation at the University of Luxembourg.

Martina formed and led a working group of finance professionals in Luxembourg with the purpose of establishing a formal 100 Women in Finance location in Luxembourg. Martina has been a 100WF member since 2013 and is a 100WF Global Angel.

 

Isabelle Nicks
Independent Director, and ex-EY Senior Audit Partner

Isabelle Nicks is an Independent Director based in Luxembourg.

From 1993 to 2024, Isabelle built her entire professional career at EY Luxembourg in the Assurance Business specialized in financial services, auditing credit institutions and investment funds. She was a “certified Réviseur d’entreprises’ and a member of the EY Luxembourg Executive Committee, responsible for People Strategy. She also led the ESG project for EY Luxembourg to be successfully awarded the government ‘Action Positive’ label for EY employees.

Isabelle has dual nationality (Belgium and Luxembourg) and a degree from KUL Leuven (Belgium) in Economy and a degree of applied economics from Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium). She has completed the INSEAD EY Sustainable Finance Programme.

Isabelle joined the 100 Women in Finance Luxembourg working group in 2022.
