George Town, Grand Cayman (23 February 2023): As part of the royal visit to the Cayman Islands, 100 Women in Finance (“100WF”) hosted 100WF GirlForce100 mentees at Government House this week for an intimate reception with 100WF Global Ambassador HRH The Countess of Wessex.
GirlForce100 is a strategic community partnership between 100WF and the Cayman Islands Ministry of Education, and provides support, educational guidance and opportunity to young women aged 13-25 years old, attending educational institutions in the Cayman Islands.
As part of 100WF’s Investing in the Next Generation Initiatives, the programme pairs young women who have indicated an interest in any career in the finance industry and have demonstrated notable potential meriting their placement with 100WF members who provide ongoing mentorship. Through long-term mentorship as well as ongoing educational programming, GirlForce100 supports participating mentees in the development and progression of their career paths leading them to success.
“With eight years of service in the Cayman Islands, GirlForce100 has a proven record for positively impacting young women in the community and we are thrilled to be able to give our mentees a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity such as this,” says Christina Bodden, 100WF Board Member and Partner of the Maples Group.
As 100WF Global Ambassador, HRH The Countess of Wessex is equipped to share 100WF’s global knowledge of best practices around cultivating interest and engagement from the next generation of women entering the industry. While spending time with HRH The Countess of Wessex in a closed-door setting, GirlForce100 mentees could ask Her Royal Highness a career-related question of their choice.
“HRH The Countess of Wessex has excellently supported our mission to raise the industry’s visibility and appeal as young women consider career paths,” says 100WF CEO, Amanda Pullinger. “Her work has helped to cultivate interest and engagement from the next generation of women entering the industry and has been invaluable to our organisation’s success.”
