New York, 1 July 2026
The New York Early Career Committee organized an engaging panel discussion exploring careers in Investor Relations and Business Development. Hosted by NYC Hub | Bank of Ireland, the event brought together professionals at different stages of their careers to share insights into the skills, experiences, and opportunities within these dynamic fields.
The discussion covered topics including breaking into the industry, developing technical expertise, fundraising, relationship management, and navigating career transitions. A consistent theme throughout the evening was that while technical knowledge provides a strong foundation, long-term success is built through effective communication, curiosity, and meaningful professional relationships. Panelists also encouraged attendees to seek mentors and sponsors, embrace emerging technologies such as AI, and be intentional about finding organizations with strong cultures that invest in their people.
Thank you to moderator Lizzy Curland of Peloton Equity and to panelists Elise Hubsher, Fleming Landau, and Cameron McElroy for sharing their valuable insights. We also thank NYC Hub | Bank of Ireland for sponsoring and hosting the event, and everyone who joined us for an evening of learning, discussion, and networking.
