We are delighted to launch the 100 Women in Finance Nigeria Book Club – a new initiative designed to bring our community together through thought-provoking books and engaging conversations on leadership, investing, careers, governance, and the ideas shaping finance and business in Africa and beyond.
Whether you’re looking to broaden your perspective, engage in stimulating discussions, connect with fellow finance professionals, or simply make more time for reading, we hope you’ll join us for our book club series.
Our inaugural book is Leaving the Tarmac by Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, former Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank Plc. Part memoir, part leadership reflection, and part blueprint for building enduring institutions, Leaving the Tarmac explores ambition, resilience, governance, purpose, and what it takes to create lasting impact. It offers valuable lessons for professionals across finance, investment, entrepreneurship, leadership, and personal growth and we look forward to exploring its themes together.
How It Will Work
We’ll spend August through October reading the book together, with virtual discussion sessions at the end of each month before coming together for an in-person wrap-up and networking session in November.

- August: Begin reading
- Wednesday 26 August, 6pm WAT: Virtual Discussion 1
- Wednesday 30 September, 6pm WAT: Virtual Discussion 2
- Wednesday 28 October, 6pm WAT: Virtual Discussion 3
- November: In-person wrap-up event and networking session
There’s no need to finish the entire book before joining the discussions. We encourage members to participate throughout the journey, whether you’ve read a few chapters or the entire book.
