Oct 19, 2023

A week dedicated to celebrating and empowering female investment professionals, enhancing visibility for women-led funds, and increasing allocations to female managers.

NEW YORK – 19 October 2023 – 100 Women in Finance (“100WF”), a global finance industry network comprising nearly 30,000 registered members, today announces that its annual Global FundWomen Week Conference (“GFWW”) will take place from December 4th to December 8th, 2023.

GFWW is a core part of 100WF’s FundWomen initiative, promoting and empowering female investment professionals by facilitating stronger networks within the institutional investment community and increasing allocations to female managers. Over 280 managers from around the world and across various asset classes are expected to participate in the event.

GFWW combines virtual and in-person programming to promote thought leadership from industry experts, feature prominent speakers, and facilitate ‘spotlights’ – small-group interactive spaces where participants can discuss ideas, share opportunities, and build relationships. This year’s GFWW will feature an in-person one day capital introductions event in New York City on December 7th and will include 1:1 speed networking meetings between leading female fund managers and allocators as well as CIO and allocator panels.

Leading allocators already confirmed to participate include: Albourne, AP Pension, AustralianSuper, Blackstone, CaLPERS, CalSTRS, Cambridge University, CommonSpirit Health, CPP Investments, Doris Duke Foundation, Hackensack Meridian, LACERA, Mellon Foundation, Memorial Sloan Kettering, MIT Investment Management Company, National Gallery of Art, NY State Common, Princeton, Saint Paul & Minnesota, Stable Asset Management, Texas TRS, Trinity Church Wall Street, University of Massachusetts, University of Michigan, University of Rochester and W.K Kellogg.

Christopher Ailman, CIO of CalSTRS, will open the 2023 conference and commented: “Global FundWomen Week is powerfully expanding gender diversity in the money management industry.  Women are breaking the glass ceiling in leadership positions across our industry. I’ve said it over and over, we need to move “beyond talk’ and take action.”

To amplify the event’s impact, 100WF will be partnering with Institutional Allocators for Diversity Equity and Inclusion (IADEI). Sophia Tsai, Managing Director, Trinity Church Wall Street and Co-Founder of IADEI stated: “IADEI is looking forward to collaborating and working towards our common goals of enabling institutional allocators to include more diversity in their investment funnels by facilitating direct engagement with diverse managers.”

Priya Kaftan, Head of Investor Relations and Product Strategy at Heard Capital and Chair of 2023’s GFWW Volunteer Committee, said: “Global FundWomen Week brings together talented female fund managers across strategies and geographies with institutional allocators who are committed to increasing the percentage of assets managed by women. The participating allocators, who include some of the most well-respected institutional investing minds globally, recognize that investing in these fund managers enhances returns and better aligns their portfolio with their underlying beneficiaries and constituents. The percentage of allocations to female-led funds remains too low, and GFWW, along with our technology partner Clade, creates an opportunity to identify and invest in these amazing managers.”
