100 Women in Finance (100WF), a global, practitioner-driven nonprofit organization that serves more than 15,000 professionals in the finance and alternative investment industries, announced that it successfully raised more than CAD $275,000 in gross proceeds at its Inaugural Toronto Gala in support of True Patriot Love Foundation (TPL), a national charity that supports military families, funds community-based programs, and contributes to the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research.
The Inaugural Toronto Gala, The Triumph Gala, was held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the beautiful Corus Quay, with the support of more than 400 leaders from the financial services and alternative investment industry.
The Triumph Gala was an evening to celebrate the Invictus Games Toronto 2017 and more specifically to support the True Patriot Love Foundation. Featured throughout the evening were moving and encouraging speakers as well as awe-inspiring entertainment. The Gala would not have been possible without the commitment of the 100WF volunteers and the support of its generous sponsors, including the presenting sponsor, CIBC.
The gross proceeds of the Triumph Gala amounted to over CAD $275,000. Net proceeds will be directed to the TPL Family & Children Fund that supports the Military Family Resource Centres across Canada as well as similar programs providing counselling and services that empower and encourage strong, independent individuals and families within the Canadian Forces. Funding will be used to provide local programming that includes child and youth development, parenting support, personal development and community integration.
Since its formation in 2001, 100WF has raised more than $42 million globally for philanthropic causes in the areas of women’s and family health, education and mentoring. 100WF’s philanthropic mission is to utilize its collective abilities and expertise in order to give back to the local community in an impactful way. The 100WF Board of Directors chooses beneficiaries on a rotating basis. The global philanthropic theme for 2017 is women’s and family health.
