On 22 September 2026, 100 Women in Finance Nigeria hosted a dynamic Venture Capital Masterclass themed “Career, Capital & Community,” bringing together women across finance, investment and entrepreneurship for an engaging conversation on career development, venture capital and the opportunities shaping Africa’s future.
The event featured a keynote address by Dr. Omobola Johnson, who shared reflections from her distinguished career journey, the factors that have contributed to her professional success, and practical insights on navigating career challenges, building meaningful relationships and being intentional about career development.
The panel session, featuring perspectives from Lola Masha, Partner at Antler and Ashim Egunjobi, Managing Partner at Octerra Capital explored the venture capital ecosystem, entrepreneurship, investment and the opportunities available to founders and investors across Africa. The discussion provided valuable insights into what it takes to build businesses, attract capital and create sustainable value.
It was particularly inspiring to hear from founders in the room who are building businesses to address critical challenges across infrastructure, energy, healthcare, education and STEM. Their stories offered a powerful reminder of the innovation and entrepreneurial talent emerging across Africa.
The masterclass also reinforced the importance of community — creating spaces where women can exchange ideas, share experiences, build networks and access opportunities across the investment and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
We are grateful to Africa Finance Corporation and Antler for sponsoring the session.
