100 Women In Finance Announces 2018 New Global Association Board Leadership

Lauren Malafronte Elected Chair Of The Global Association Board And Elaine Crocker Elected Vice Chair.
100 Women in Finance (100WF) today announced the election of its new Global Association Board leadership for 2018. 100 Women in Finance is a global, practitioner-driven nonprofit organization that serves more than 15,000 professionals in the finance and alternative investment industries.
100WF’s Global Association Board elected Lauren Malafronte, Managing Director at Scotiabank, as its new Chair, to succeed Sonia Gardner, President, Managing Partner, and Co-Founder at Avenue Capital Group, on January 1, 2018. Elaine Crocker, President at Moore Capital Management, was elected as Vice Chair.
Sonia Gardner said, “I am honored to have served as Chair of 100WHF’s Global Association Board for the past two years and I am proud of what we have accomplished over this period. Among other things, we re-branded the organization as 100 Women in Finance, enhanced the NextGen program, and grew our membership. I’m also thrilled to have overseen the expansion of 100WF’s wonderful staff with the recent hiring of a COO, and positioned the organization for continued success and to play an ever greater role in the careers of so many of members, as well as to help realize the goals of the nonprofits we support. It has been a privilege to Chair 100WF and work closely with the exceptional members of the Board, our incredible CEO Amanda Pullinger, and staff. I am confident that, under Lauren’s leadership, 100WF will continue to flourish and I have no doubt that she will be an inspiration to the many women involved with 100WF.”
On being named Chair of 100WF’s Global Association Board, Lauren Malafronte added, “Thanks to the efforts of all members, from senior practitioners to younger finance professionals, and our strong relationships with sponsor companies, 100 Women in Finance is poised for exceptional growth and to continue to have a great impact in the areas of education, peer engagement and philanthropy. I am honored to be serving as Global Chair and am thrilled to be following Sonia Gardner, who has done so many great things for the organization.”
Lauren is a Managing Director at Scotiabank and is a member of the global management team for Prime Services responsible for Client Management. Prior to joining Scotiabank in 2013, she was the Head of Client Service for Prime Services at Barclays Capital. She began her career as a Computer Programmer/Business Analyst for various financial institutions before she moved into the Prime Brokerage business. Lauren is a member of the operating committee of Scotiabank’s U.S. Women’s Council and part of the bank’s U.S. Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
100WF’s Global Association Board today also thanked the following retiring Board members for their service: Joan Werner, Senior Director at New York Life Investments and long-standing officer of 100WF acting as Treasurer; Heather James, Principal, Director of Research, Federal Street Partners, LLC; Anne Popkin, President, Symphony Asset Management; and Diane Schrader, Principal, Lionfish Capital LLC.
