Chief Executive Officer

The Opportunity

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the overall strategic management and leadership of 100 Women in Finance (“100WF”). As the external facing spokesperson and strategic leader of the organization, the CEO will be responsible for advancing 100WF’s market impact, inspiring and leading the global and diverse organization of over 30,000 members with steadfast commitment to empowering women in the finance industry. The CEO will drive, motivate, energize, and enable the organization, people, business segments, and operations with a continuous innovative mindset and sustained organizational performance that ensures 100WF remains the leading institution that collectively advances and empowers women in the finance industry globally.

Building upon 100WF’s strong foundation, the CEO will position the organization for future growth and expand its vibrant community of members globally. As the chief mobilizer and spokesperson of the organization, the CEO will represent 100WF in the existing and emerging communities it serves to a wide range of key influencers and stakeholders. The CEO will steward the 100WF brand, and champion, grow, and protect the reputation of 100WF. As such, this leader will leverage the power of relationships and networks to enable growth for the organization and attract new sponsors and members to join 100WF on its mission globally.

The mission-driven CEO will balance being the external face of 100WF with driving strategic initiatives and making sound decisions with measured risks to drive business opportunities that provide sustained growth for 100WF. Working closely with the Board, the CEO will be responsible for the strategic implementation of 100WF’s vision, Vision 30/40, in articulating, setting strategy, and executing the mission across all key functional aspects of 100WF. This leader will formulate strategies that produce effective outcomes with measurable results and will possess strong management skills around planning, strategy, innovation, operations and technology, expenses, and talent.

The CEO will identify new ways the organization can add value to its members in creatively leading the organization on a variety of initiatives including its existing programs such as 1) FundWomen, 100WFintech, and the Allocator Showcase, 2) education and professional programming, 3) conferences such as Global FundWomen Week, 4) job boards for sourcing diverse talent, 5) corporate and private boards initiatives, and 6) industry leadership awards.

The CEO will achieve shared and measurable goals by creating, resourcing, scaling, and leveraging strategies for broad impact. The executive will display a commitment to people development by leveraging and developing a strong and diverse team. They will foster a collaborative team environment that supports accountability and ensures the 100WF team is in alignment in accomplishing organizational results. The future leader of 100WF will have exceptional communication skills, providing clarity to goals and interpreting the business strategy for staff. Further, the CEO will build organizational capability, structures, and systems to ensure the organization has the right capabilities to deliver sustainable results that are committed to a shared vision for the future of 100WF.

At this exciting time in its history, 100 Women in Finance (“100WF”) seeks an experienced, respected, and confident yet humble leader, with an enthusiastic commitment to sustain and build upon its mission to strengthen the global finance industry by empowering women to achieve their professional potential at each career stage. Leaders can come from a variety of backgrounds, including, but not limited to, financial services and investment management. In terms of the professional and personal qualities, skills and characteristics, as well as experiences desired for this leader, we would highlight the following:

  • Ability to attract, build strong relationships with and provide inspirational leadership to 100WF’s existing and prospective sponsors, members, employees, and active, global volunteer base of over 600 professionals.

  • Able to further institutionalize and operationalize the 100WF organization while also amplifying the brand, capabilities and impact of the 100WF organization and membership.
  • Hands-on, efficient, and resourceful; able to effectively influence, inspire and drive change and results, leading by example and encouraging global collaboration and support to further the efforts of 100WF.
  • Financial acumen with budgetary and P&L management experience, and a track record of executing organizational goals.

Compensation

The compensation available for the CEO role considers a variety of factors including, but not limited to, work location, individual skill set, previous/applicable experience, and other

organizational needs. The estimated salary for this role is $300,000. This salary represents 100 Women in Finance’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base salary at the time of posting and is one part of the total rewards the organization provides to employees.
