Executive Director, Business Execution Fund Finance
Charina Amunategui is an accomplished finance professional with over 20 years of experience in asset management operations across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Bermuda. Currently, she is serving as Executive Director, Business Execution in Fund Finance at MUFG Investor Services, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, one of the world’s largest banks. Charina’s track record includes consistently exceeding annual line of business profitability targets and managing large client relationships in diverse segments such as hedge funds, private equity, real estate, and infrastructure. She supports the well-being and growth of her colleagues at MUFG as a mental health first aider, coach, and mentor.
In addition to her professional achievements, Charina actively contributes to her industry and the global community. As the Chair of the 100 Women in Finance New York MidCareer Committee, she leads efforts to provide women with the tools and resources needed for career progression. With a focus on building a pipeline of future iconic female leaders, she leads the group in offering professional development, leadership coaching, and peer engagement programs.
She is pursuing her MBA at Yale University, specializing in Asset Management, and was awarded a scholarship of merit for the Executives program. Charina’s global perspective was further enriched through her participation in the Global Network for Advance Management program at Oxford University.
Charina is a recognized expert in her field, featured in notable publications including Forbes, Global Investor Group, and Thrive Global. She is also a sought-after public speaker, delivering impactful speeches on topics such as personal branding, self-advocacy, and confidence building.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Charina demonstrates her determination and resilience as a fitness competitor in the Wellness division of the North American Bodybuilding scene. She is excited to bring her financial and governance expertise to her roles as Treasurer on the boards of Inspiring Girls USA and New York Classical Theatre, where she aims to drive positive change.
