Recap | Milan April 2024 | Learning Collaboratively about Navigating Family Offices

Apr 11, 2024

On 11 April 2024, more than 40 members and guests of 100 Women in Finance (100WF) and BlackRock’s Women Initiative Network (WIN) were given a unique insight into the discreet world of family offices.

Laura Arnaboldi (Nuova Energia Holding), Sonia Dehò (SVD Consulting), Ana Kuhtic (Viris SpA) and moderator Roberta Gamba (BlackRock) shared their unique perspectives in a frank and illuminating panel discussion on Navigating Family Offices organized by 100WF’s Milan Committee.

Key takeaways included the following.

  • The decision making of family offices is driven by varied factors such as liquidity events, a defined asset allocation strategy and the entrepreneurial ambitions of family members.
  • Family offices face some specific risks including succession and reputation.
  • Engaging with the next generation to inherit wealth, while creating robust governance for family wealth and investments, is important for preserving assets across generations and managing succession risk.

We would like to thank each of the speakers and our hosts, WIN and BlackRock, for their valuable contribution and hospitality.
